Bogie is a 12 yr. old black schnauzer with diabetes, diagnosed 9/01. In 2005 he was dx'ed with atypical Cushings. In 02/16/2008 he was dx'ed with prostate cancer and passed on 08/14/2008. In 09/2008 he would have been diabetic for 7 years. Miss you Boges.

In Sept. 2006 I adopted Molly, a 6 yr. old diabetic Chihuahua. She is a very easy diabetic. She eats raw and freeze dried and is getting 5.5 units of Novolin N.

I have 17 pets in all. All but Bogie were strays or rescues. I live in a small town in central Iowa. I luckily get to stay home with the "kids"!

I have 9 cats and 6 dogs at home and 2 dogs that live in a fenced area where hubby works. Micah is a huskie that I found and Zeke is a sheperd that had spent 2 years on a 10' log chain and not fed regularly. They are great pals!

All the cats were strays or rescues. I lost one baby in 02/08 to cardiomyopathy, Jaz was just 8.

The other dogs at home besides the diabetic are Reba, a german shorthair cross that was a stray and has been with us for 9 years. Lexi and Livi are Shih Tzu's, 6 year old litter mates. Lili is a 5 year old maltese and Murphy a ten year old black schnauzer that joined us at the end of 2010 after his owner got sick.
The cats names are Dink, Shaq, Bubba, Harley, George, Maxi, Gracie, Goldie and newbie Simon. 

I've been married for 34 years and have one son, a step daughter and a step son. 11 grandkids, 4 whom are close by. Now also have a great grandbaby, Maddie.

I like to golf and work in the yard when it's not too hot and in winter I do what I have to and otherwise stay home.

I'm a born again Christian and try to keep God at the center of my life. I believe that you must receive Christ as your personal savior, ask Him into your heart to be saved and be assured of spending eternity in Heaven. The alternative to accepting Christ is to spend eternity in hell.
